Which reminds me - would you be willing to take a stab at drawing a lizard tattoo for me? Since you drew the sharpie lizard on me a few weeks ago, I've been thinking more and more about actually getting inked. I've posted musings on what it might look like here...
Normally I love your art unconditionally. I guess I still do, because I like this, but I have feedback: why is there a blur in fore and background both? It jars me. If that's a product of post-production rather than how it came out of the lens, I would prefer one or the other.
The photo is unedited. When the focal plane is narrow due to wide aperture (f/2.8), it is narrow in both directions. Because the dragon is nearly perpendicular to the focal plane, it loses focus very quickly, near and far.
I find it a little jarring too. I have some other shots that show more of the dragon in focus, but they weren't as exciting... probably because my hand isn't all contorted from trying to hold both the camera and my hand still. ;) <3 *hug* :)
