More handmade fractals. :)

I like the complicated one a *lot* more, which had me poke at my head to understand why.

I think it's because I process the outlining as depth (ie. lead-lighting). The simpler one ... it seems a bit cartoon-ish. I don't know why that's a negative for me here. 8-)

Thanks! :) I go through a lot of versions trying to decide which I like best. Here's a more complicated one...

Interestingly, I like that a bit less than the first complicated one... but I think it might be the better image. It's now a little *too* cluttered for my eye to easily follow - but that might suit the title of the piece better. 8-)

(you keep eliciting this response from me....)

i get the same feeling of swirling depth and 3 dimensions as australian_joe mentions out of the first one. The second one feels more like stained glass. The third feels like a combination; I get the 3-dim quality of the first, but also as if it's made of stained glass and the light is causing a speckled shadow texture (like sunlight through a leafy tree).

I like the first one best.

How are you making these, dear? Out of idle curiosity.

I like all of them, but I’m with australian_joe and clara_girl; I like the first one best. These are very cool. Have you given any consideration to selling prints? I’d buy one.

Thanks! I have considered it, but I haven't actually set it up. What sort of prints might you want, if they were available (no commitment, just surveying)?

Basically, the sort of thing sunspiral sells, approximately 8x10 or so, archival quality, ideally matted and ready to hang. If they weren’t matted, I’d still buy them, but they’d probably sit on a shelf waiting for me to get around to finding a frame for them rather than actually going on my walls. :-)

Poking around on cafepress.com (who do framed prints, but not matted ones — that’d be OK too, but I prefer matted), I note that postcards would also be cool.

BTW, I loved the dragon watch, too!

I agree with everyone that the first is the best. Wait... Fractals can be handmade? I thought they were, as a rule, computer generated? I looked it up a little while ago 'cause I love looking at them and I wanted to know how they were made. All I understood was that they were made by computer-- the rest of the definitions I found may as well have been in French. Maybe you could define it in English for me?

In any case... I really like that first one up there! Keep the beautifulness coming. Always brightens up my day!

The definition does not conflict with being handmade, and I'm not the first person to use the term. :)
