Do you feel your online/writing personality is similar to your person…

Do you feel your online/writing personality is similar to your person in reality? Do you speak differently? Do you act differently? Are there things you will/won't do in one or the other? :) Any thoughts? :)

I'm much more flirty and animated online than I am in person, I think. Given time to eye up the words on the screen, though, it sorta balances out, as I'm a little more lucid online, too.

I can talk a lot more easily and eloquently in text. I also tend to be able to be more spontaneous. Probably because I can always hit backspace on text :)
Then again, speech is instantaneous; once text is out there, it's out there for a while. Something to think about.

Ditto. I'm a bit flashier in print than I am in real life, except around my friends. In real life, I'm fairly reserved.

I think I am exactly the same.

Hmm, I don't know. I vary IRL between hiding or disappearing somewhere and being the centre of attention. It depends on the company. Usually in good company, I'm the latter.

I guess the same is true for my online personality and as the company is usually good, I'm usually pretty bubbly online :)

I think my online writing personalit is very similar to my person in reality. it matters to me to be as real as possible in every medium.t he only difference online is that i speak/talk/say more to people i don't know at all. but i generally talk how i write except i say "like" in person too much...

I'm probably more outgoing and less shy when talking online (though I still hesitate to IM people first, I don't know why). I'm more apt to be blunt and honest, and to more people online. However my writing, such as in my LJ, is basically what I would say if I was having a conversation with a close friend, or sometimes myself :0) I reserve some things from my LJ though, because I'm aware of who reads it and I don't want to get myself in trouble. Is that bad?

*hugs* :) I don't think it's bad. :)

I make private posts pretty regularly. I try to filter stuff as little as possible, but there are some things that would cause more trouble than they are worth!

I could write a book about this concept alone...

But ít's way past bedtime! :)

I know I probably speak more eloquently online, but I think that's because I have time to think about what I want to say. Hee. But other than that, I'm pretty much the same in person. (well...I tend to tone down the perversities on here, but that's a minor thing) Yay for being yourself online. Weee.
