Programming would be so easy if only all errors were reported. A huge portion of the difficulty involves figuring out things that the software doesn't tell you (but could). It's like working with a sullen child.

yes, i agree. but being able to interpret the compilers is part of the art! heh.

Indeed, a large part. One cannot claim a language without listening. :) But I think if improvements were to be made, many would be best made here! Some tools now provide better edit-time error-checking than a compiler does after deliberate thought! ;)
