Ode to a Sailor

I've been sitting on the ground,
Much to everyone's surprise;
People say I'm getting dirty.
But I would rather kiss the soil
Than be crippled by disguise
Better down to earth than pretty.

* In the ash I see passion;
In the dust I see trust.
I will turn this ship around.
And if everything crashes,
I will burn if I must.
I will turn this ship around.

I've been swimming in your sky,
Waiting for the tide to turn
To something beautiful and true.
And you've been swallowing my life.
From a distance you have earned
Every right to know I feel you.

In the ash I see passion;
In the dust I see trust.
I will turn this ship around.
Do you think I'm old-fashioned
'Cause I miss you this much?
I will turn this ship around.

I've been buried in the sand
Waiting for the sun to beat
Down upon my back like lava.
I've been hoping for your hands.
To caress my soul to sleep
and fill me up with your kabala*

I love this song, though it's not quite what I want to hear right now. It's romance and hopeless optimism and it's simple. :)

and something from

plumb - real

Look at me I'm twenty three
Beautiful a sight to see
Tonight

A little dress to draw the press
And I'll be leaving
All the rest behind

Well be pleased girl
If this is what you wanted
The whole world is watching you take the stage
What will you say

Aren't I lovely
And do you want me cause
I am hungry for something that will make me real
Can you see me and
Do you love me cause
I am desperately searching for something
Real

I close my eyes imagine time
Will not forget
My sacrifice

I numb the ache and decorate
My emptiness
Stand naked in the light

Well be pleased world
If this is what you wanted
This young girl is everything that you made
What will she say

The world goes home
The lights go down
My lipstick fades
Away

Plumb writes many songs that slip by my christian filters and get me to like them. :)
I usually like them better if I read them not as they were written. :)

These are both very intriguing. I'd love to hear them.

I'm restless and can't sleep, so I figured it would be a good time to wander around in your past a bit. ;)

*grin* Always welcome. Zis past is fairly alive, in me. I'm awake now, writing. :)

Both of these songs are yummy. I could give you links to my copies, if you can play an mp3? Or you could just remind me to play them.

mp3s are possible, I think, but the one song I wanted to hear took forever to download. I'd love to hear so much of the music that you like, that it would be easier to just hear them up there. *grin*:)
